Use Cases: Queue-it
Many of our resorts have seen success with the addition of Queue-it. Following are a couple of examples.
Mr. Bachelor SafetyNet for Pricing Deadline
In previous years, Mt. Bachelor had experienced outages during the final days of their season pass pricing deadline. In 2020, they decided to implement a Queue-it SafetyNet for the final two days of the event. They configured an upper limit of users per minute allowed in the shop. When that limit was reached, any users over that threshold were put into a virtual waiting room and then allowed into the shop sequentially. Once allowed in, guests were given 20 minutes to shop and 20 minutes to checkout. If they failed to complete shipping or checkout within the timeframe allotted, they were moved to the back of the line. Once a guest completed a purchase, their session was ended to make room for another guest to enter from the waiting room.
While running the event, system administrators had the ability to watch traffic and control inflow from the monitoring dashboard.
Jackson Hole PreQueue for Product Launch
Jackson Hole set up a PreQueue for their Winter Product Launch event. Prior to the launch, expectations were set with guests that there would be a flash sale and communicated the specific date and time of the launch. In this case, the launch was to begin at 10:00AM. A PreQueue was set to run for 30 minutes prior to the launch so that if a guest went to the site early, they could enter the pre-queue and get priority access to the shop once the sale began at 10:00am. Once the shop opened, the virtual waiting room controlled inflow and time spent in the shop.
