Use Cases: Related Products
The Related Products feature offers resorts another option for intentionally coupling products that are frequently purchased together or that would nicely complement one another. A common example of such products is a payment plan product coupled with a regular pass product. In the examples below, you can see two different approaches to promote a payment plan product in conjunction with regular pass products.
Using Attributes to Promote Payment Plan
Most resorts configure the payment plan and pay in full options as attributes on a single Aspenware Commerce product (see Sun Peaks example below), which is probably the easiest guest experience once on the product.
Using Related Products to Promote Payment Plan
Other resorts configure the payment plan option as a related product, which may be preferable if you want to have a different hero image and different product content/email confirmation messaging for the payment plan vs. pay-in-full product (See Eldora example below).
Discounted Uphill Access Passes - For products such as season pass add-ons, but you want to apply a discount to when they’re bundled together, you can use a combination of related products and promotions/discounts. As an example, say you’re selling a season pass and want to advertise an optional uphill access pass. The uphill access pass is priced at one rate on the PDP, so when you advertise “bundle and save”, you can add a heavy discount and advertise the uphill access pass as a related product on the season pass page.
