Q: What tags are included in the GA4 datalayer?

The tags are triggered to fire when the event occurs, so you will not see every tag on each transaction.
The expanded tags will provide much greater insight into customer activity in comparison to the three tags supported in Universal Analytics: Page View, Transaction Event, and Transaction.
Universal Analytics can run simultaneously with GA4 until July 1, 2023, per Google.
Q: How do I see what tags are associated with which site?
Aspenware recommends that you use separate measurement IDs for production and test sites, so that your data is accurate. A simple way to check and see what tags are installed is to use the Tag Assistant (Legacy) extension.
Verify that the Tag that is embedded on each site is correctly associated with either the Production or Test container you have created and are reporting to. Your Aspenware Support Representative can assist you in adding the correct tag to your site.
To view the results of the Tag Analysis, activate the extension by clicking on the icon, enable, and then the record. Complete a transaction. Click on the extension icon to see the results of the tag analysis.
Q: I would like to add a custom tag. How do I request that?
GA4 limits the number of custom tags that can be implemented. If you have a custom tag request, please email it to your Aspenware Support Representative, and it will be included for consideration in a future release.
