Using Aspenware Conditional Attributes to Build Packages: A Case Study from Treble Cone/Cardrona

Cardrona/Treblecone, who recently went live with Aspenware Commerce, made quick work to utilize conditional attributes in a unique way. Their Clothing & Accessories product offers customers the option to build their own package of needed equipment or bundle all options together for additional savings. The bundled package is sold into their POS as a single product, however, their a la carte offering sells individual products for each item selected.

To overcome the pricing and product mapping challenges, Cardrona/Treblecone used conditional attributes to create the best customer experience.

Bundled Product

If the customer decides to purchase the bundled option, a conditional set of items is displayed with a required radio button control type. This forces each attribute value to be shown as selected but only as a visual indication to the customer so they know what they are purchasing.  The single POS product is mapped to the selection of the bundled attribute value.

Individual Products

If the customer decides to build out their own package a la carte, a separate conditional set of items is displayed to the customer. This time, these items are mapped to separate add-on products, allowing for the individual price of each item to be displayed. These attributes are set up as optional checkboxes, allowing the guest to pick and choose the different items they need.

It’s that easy! Guests can quickly identify which items they need and add them to their cart. It’s easy to see which products are being purchased regardless of how the products are configured in the POS.
