Take the confusion out of IKON Pass Friends & Family Reservations.

Aspenware Commerce now offers the ability to integrate with the IKON Pass Friends & Family Discount Redemption program allowing customers to effortlessly book discount days in advance without needing to contact your call center.

As the IKON Pass becomes more popular, so will the demand to offer an intuitive solution for guests to redeem their IKON Pass Friends & Family discount benefits.  Until now, most resorts have been offering these discounts to customers at the ticket windows or over the phone through their call centers.  These sales require manual intervention by resort staff and often limits advance booking.

With Aspenware’s newly developed integration with the IKON Pass, you can streamline the customer’s purchasing process for discounted lift tickets.  This integration will empower guests to purchase discounted days themselves and will eliminate required involvement from your staff.

IMPORTANT: Enabling this feature does require an annual feature subscription fee. Talk to your Aspenware representative about adding this feature to your Aspenware Commerce subscription.

Empower your guests to book!

Aspenware Commerce allows guests to easily book valid discount lift tickets directly in the Commerce store.  IKON Pass holders can share IKON Pass Friends & Family discounts with others via email through the IKON portal.  Anyone with a discount in their IKON account can redeem their discounted tickets via the Aspenware Commerce platform in 4 easy steps:

  1. The customer visits to the dedicated IKON Pass Friends & Family discounted product in your store;

  2. They log in to their IKON account with the IKON widget on the PDP;

  3. They select their arrival date and any other relevant attributes; and

  4. They complete checkout in your store.

Aspenware’s integration with IKON Pass Friends & Family removes the headache of meeting pass requirements from the buying process.  In the past, many ski areas ran into the issue of guests arriving at the resort to redeem an IKON Pass Friends & Family discounted ticket, only to learn that the current day falls into a blackout period.  This led to guest dissatisfaction and the potential loss of a customer. 

However, by moving the buying process online, guests will be directed to book in advance.  The IKON Pass Friends & Family integration is built to handle blackout days (if required by the original purchased pass), so guests should be aware when they can use their discount. 

To help illustrate this idea, we have Bob and Irene.  Bob is an IKON Base Pass holder, and Irene is a friend who is just being introduced to skiing.  To help get Irene out on the slopes, Bob shares one of his IKON Base Pass discounts with Irene.  Irene uses the link from the IKON Pass website to navigate to the Copper store to redeem her discounted lift ticket.  In the Copper store, Irene attempts to book December 26.  Because this falls into a blackout period for the IKON Base Pass, Irene receives a message stating that she cannot use her discount on the selected day.  With this knowledge, she updates her selected day to a valid day based on her discount eligibility.  By booking in advance, Irene has saved herself from the frustration of showing up to the resort only to learn that she cannot use her discount.

Effortlessly integrate with IKON.   

A key feature that allows Aspenware Commerce to work with IKON Pass Friends & Family discount program is the integration into the IKON system.  The IKON Pass platform houses all discounts, which Aspenware Commerce can access.  If a discount is redeemed in the resort’s store, the usage data is automatically sent from Aspenware to IKON and recorded there.  Once IKON has a record of that usage, the discount will become unavailable.  You can sleep safe knowing that all your IKON Pass Friends & Family discount redemptions were recorded properly in the IKON database.

One of the major draws of the IKON Pass Friends & Family program is the exposure to new guests.  By promoting discounts, guests are encouraged to bring their friends and family members to experience the joys of your mountain.  It’s yet another channel to help market your mountain.  This will help to grow the sport and could result in a life-long relationship with new guests.
