As resorts work to weather climate change, one product that is growing in popularity is a year-round pass. The Wall Street Journal recently put out an article on how climate change is impacting the ski industry. One suggestion they gave for keeping revenues high despite potentially shorter seasons is to invest in year-round fun. Resorts that offer year-round passes or memberships are implementing the Aspenware Commerce Subscriptions Module so that they can offer members or pass holders the option to reserve their included activities. - things like indoor sessions, tubing, zip lines, etc. 

Subscriptions also take payment plans a step further to make access to activities on a year-round basis a long-term relationship with guests. As destinations in the industry make a move toward boosting year-round access, it makes sense that guests will want to participate all year long. To make that possible, our subscription products charge customers a lower monthly fee for as long as they participate. In addition, destinations can give members exclusive access to products and activities that can either be bundled into their monthly fee or offered at an additional price. Resorts can pause memberships or cancel as needed and customers can manage their membership payment methods in My Account.
