Common Troubleshooting: Blackout Windows
Q: My blackout window is set to 1, but I'm able to book up until midnight the day before, is the cutoff working?
A: The cutoff time will default to that time that is set for your store-wide cutoff setting (set in seasonsettings.productcutofftime). So, if seasonsettings.productcutofftime is set to midnight and your blackout window is set to 1, then the product will available until midnight the day before the arrival date. If you’d like to change that time, there are two options:
Option A: You can change the store-wide setting (seasonsettings.productcutofftime) by going to Settings > All settings (advanced) in Administration. The time needs to be entered in military time. This will change this setting for any products that are using it, so before changing it, make sure that other blackout windows or product dependencies aren’t affected adversely.
Option B: You can overwrite the store-wide cutoff time by following the detailed instructions to overwrite it in the Configuration Guide for Blackout Windows.
Q: Can I use a cut-off window on a non-date-based product?
A: Cut-off windows on non-date-based products are not supported. Talk with your Aspenware Representative about using a hidden radio button date selector behind the scenes if you want to support this feature.
Q: My blackout window isn’t working correctly for a product that is sold onsite. What should I do?
A: If this product is sold onsite and the POS product has blackout windows applied to it, confirm that blackout windows are set up on the POS product so that blackout window rules will match between the POS and Aspenware Commerce.
