Certain aspects of these steps can be edited, by clicking EDIT on each step.

5. Update Theming

The Resort Tools - Kiosk tool is highly customizable and can be branded to use resort-specific colors, fonts, logos, and background images. The theme can be configured at two different levels. The top-level will cascade down to all created Locations. The second level is the Location level, any updates to settings at this level will override the top-level settings and will cascade down to each terminal in that location.

Go to Self Registration > Style Customization

Refer to the “Gather Branding Materials” prerequisite task here https://aspenware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/AE/pages/1623032073/Configuration%3A+Resort+Tools+-+Kiosk#1.-Gather-Branding-Materials above for references on formatting requirements. Once the fields have been updated click the Savebutton.

Note

WARNINGIMPORTANT: The “Save” button at the bottom of the page does not always function. It is recommended to use the Save button at the top of the page. With certain updates to styles theming, the app pool needs to be restarted from the IIS Manager in order for the change to be reflected in the app.

...

To update at the product level go to Self Registration > Langauge Customization.

8. Configure Styles and Languages at Location-Level (Optional)

Optionally, languages can be configured at the Location-Level.

Go to Self Registration > Locations > select desired location by clicking Edit > click Edit next to “Language Config” or Edit next to “Style Config”. Then follow the guides from 5. Update Theming & 7. Configure Languages (Optional) to configure these settings at the Terminal-level.

9. Open unique URL on Kiosk(s)

Open the app on the kiosk and ensure it runs as expected by testing end-to-end.

10. Set Up Self-Reg Printing (Optional)

To set up printing for Resort Tools Self Registration, please follow the instructions outlined in the Resort Tools Configuration Guide for Self Registration Printing. As a final step, optionally, information may be printed from a Microsoft Reporting Services report definition file (.rdl). Printing is commonly used to print a rental form that can be scanned for rental fulfillment.  Aspenware will provide an example .rdl file as a starting point as specific report parameters need to be included.  This .rdl file is set up differently than the .rdl files used by RTP|One so Aspenware will need to provide this.

Any type of printer can be used if the resort tools server is set up with a driver to print to the terminal’s local printer.  This can be a networked printer or a locally installed USB/parallel printer.

If the printer is networked, install the driver on the resort tools server as a local printer and define the IP address of the printer as the port.

If the printer is a local printer, follow the following steps to configure it.

On the POS or local Windows computer, use Windows Sharing to share the printer.

...

On the ResortTools server add a new printer and click ‘Printer is not listed’.

...

  • Click add a local or network printer as an administrator
