Use Cases: Renewal/Linked Products
Forever Pass - Bear Valley offered a Forever Pass deal to guests, which locked in prices “forever” prior to being acquired by Skyline. They use renewal functionality each season to offer these Forever passes to guests who purchased these passes that were available 5 years ago.
Payment Plan Renewal Products - Copper Mountain offers a payment plan option on their renewal products. The payment plan schedule displays on the renewal product card just as it would for a regular PDP.
Add-ons like Kids Ski Free on renewal passes - Copper Mountain offers a kids ski free pass to adult passholders as well as a premium pass upgrade, a Barn Pass, and more. They use add-on products on their renewal products to facilitate these pass add-ons.
Ride Local Passholders who skied the most - Lee Canyon ran a campaign several years ago where passholders who skied more than X number of days in a season had access to a highly discounted pass price for the next season. In order to facilitate this, they sold a dummy access product to all eligible pass holders that they set up as linked to a renewal product to give these “winners” access to their discounted pass.
Frequency Cards - Big Sky Resort offers a frequency card product that gives guests access to discounted additional day tickets. They set up renewal functionality to offer two different “single day pass' options. The unrestricted day ticket was valid for single-day access any day of the season and was slightly more expensive, and the weekday option was valid for single-day access any weekday, non-holiday date.
