SheerID
SheerID is a prompt that a guest receives during the personalization step of the checkout process that leverages the RTP|One customer validation procedures to ensure that certain eligibility criteria are met before the checkout process is complete. Guests must enter “codes,” which SheerID grants to verified members, in order to checkout with a SheerID enabled product.
Feature Detail - SheerID
When a customer checks out with a product or product plus attribute value that is set up with SheerID restrictions, they will see a verification section on the Personalization step of checkout. This includes a link to the respective SheerID hosted page, and a textbox to enter their verification code. The customer will be unable to continue past Personalization until they enter a valid verification code. These verification codes are granted to verified members through the SheerID platform. A code can be set up to only be applied a single time on the Personalization step and cannot be used for multiple household members, or it can be set up so that it can be used for future transactions for a period of time until it is invalid. When submitted on the Personalization step, a check is performed against RTP|One (the system which houses the valid codes) to ensure the code is valid and not expired.
NOTE: When the customer checks out for their order, the code is marked as used and cannot be applied a second time.
