Overview

The Selective Guest Checkout feature extends current guest checkout functionality by allowing resorts to turn on and off guest checkout according to the product. This means that resorts have the option to both enable and disable guest checkout globally, as well as on a per-product basis. When enabled globally and by product, administrators will flag those products they want eligible for guest checkout within product setup. Guests may then checkout without logging in if all items in their cart are guest check-in eligible.

Anonymous checkout/Guest checkout

Guest checkout and anonymous checkout are used interchangeably. This is because Aspenware is building upon existing Commerce functionality named “anonymous checkout” but resorts more commonly refer to this feature as guest checkout.

Selective Guest Checkout Configuration

Selective Guest Checkout works by bringing together three settings. Two settings are at the global level (within Order Settings), while the selective guest checkout is set at the individual product level:

Anonymous checkout allowed (Configuration > Order Settings > Checkout)
Anonymous checkout by product (Configuration > Order Settings > Additional Order Settings)
Is Guest Checkout Eligible (Catalog > Products > Additional Product Settings)
