Following Google’s technical best practices (documented here), we have changed the userId value in the data layer. The userId field previously contained customer email addresses; this value will now be hashed. Instead of “test@example.com,” you will now see something like “98632fe64caee49516d3891bdeac44ac6abfbdf8f29e99d578cba698d9bcf012”.
