Configuration: Legacy Kount
Kount Overview
Kount further protects your resort from fraudulent payments. Kount can be purchased through Kount and integrated into your ecommerce site as an extra layer of protection to secure payments in your shop. Kount has proprietary fraud detection algorithms that determine fraudulent payment behavior. Kount operates silently on the shop, and presents an error if a guest or payment is flagged as potentially fraudulent.
The message to the guest is always the same “There was a problem processing your payment.” If guest gets an approval, they won’t see anything different from what they would normally experience in a successful checkout.
Kount has two statuses and if a transaction triggers either a decline or review status, both will be treated identically on the Aspenware Commerce shop and a guest won’t be allowed to complete their order… to the guest both statuses will be as if the payment was declined, meaning, products will remain in their cart and the order will not complete. If they change their payment information to something that is not flagged by Kount or if they call the resort and are removed from “review” status in Kount by an admin, then they should be able to check out with their open cart and have the order go through, assuming the card is accepted.
Kount admin can adjust omni score strictness within the Kount tool. If settings in Kount are set to be more strict, then more guests will likely be stopped from completing purchases with a “there was a problem processing your payment” message. The Kount integration only currently sits on top of Authorize.net payments and will not work with Payeezy or Square. Kount is already baked into Braintree credit processing.
Note to install Kount, a new plugin must be installed. Contact your Aspenware representative to enable Kount for your shop.
