Use Cases: Guest Checkout

Guest Checkout can be used on a variety of products to lessen checkout barriers and reduce cart abandonment.

  • Retail Products - Guests looking to buy merchandise from the store often want to quickly navigate through checkout and requiring login hinders this speed. With Selective Guest Checkout, that hindrance is removed.

  • Non-Media Products - This includes any product where logging in has a low benefit. Often times tracking guests purchases in the POS has a benefit but other times reducing checkout barriers is more beneficial. This information on guests is still saved to an email profile in the POS and by merging customers in the POS this information can often still be tracked to the proper guests.

NOTE: Media products will work as well but will not offer reload.

  • Golf Tee Time Reservations - 10 of Boyne Resort’s Michigan’s golf course tee times are sold on shop.boynegolf.com. They have enabled Identity for authentication, but also offer guest checkout. Less than half of their guests check out as guests. This fast checkout flow enables visiting golfers to check out quickly. Loyal golfers and members are encouraged to login because their discounted/free member rates are only available if they log in.

  • Gatlinburg SkyLift Park - Gatlinburg SkyLift uses Aspenware Commerce. They sell many day tickets and many of their guests are from out of town. To speed up the checkout process for these guests, they have enabled and preferred guest checkout as guests are buying their tickets. If a guest has an account, they can log in, but upwards of 80% complete checkout as a guest.

  • A-Basin’s Beach Space Reservation - Arapahoe Basin in Colorado uses Aspenware Commerce and they sell specific parking spots in their lower parking lot right next to the slopes - called “The Beach”. They require reservations in advance, and since they sell out fast, using guest checkout improves checkout speed for a better guest experience.
