Use Cases: Validated Prompts

There are many creative ways to leverage Validated Prompts in Aspenware Commerce to offer special products or discounts to specific guests or groups.

Lodging package discounts - Big Sky offers Stay & Save deals to lodging guests for 10% off mountain products on Aspenware Commerce. When guests purchase lodging, they are given a validated prompt code and access to these “Stay & Save” products. They can purchase all of their discounted lift, lesson, and rental products using this code. Their unique code is used to validate all of the discounted products in a single order, and after the order is completed, their code is inactivated.

Use this link to access the Stay & Save discounted lift tickets. Make sure to purchase lift tickets for all your party members staying in lodging with you, including children 6 and under. Add your lift tickets and any other items (lessons, guides, rentals, etc.) to your cart. Hit "Checkout". Using Lodging Reservation Number To Unlock Discounted Lift Tickets During Stay A reservation confirmation number could be used as a discount code for lift tickets to encourage guests to book lodging. This resort is selling discounted tickets from their Aspenware ecommerce store to customers who book lodging through SMS world NXT.

Upon completing their booking for lodging, guests are given a reservation code. Then, when the guest purchases lift tickets for dates during the lodging stay, the reservation code generated from the booking platform is entered and validated in a prompt during checkout. The validated prompt will verify the reservation code and dates of stay and confirm eligibility for the discounted tickets.

IMPORTANT: It’s important to note that the resort did custom work in-house to enable this feature. The reservation number must be stored in RTP|One as a value in a table that the RTP SQL rule and validated prompt reference. Aspenware’s validated prompt functionality can only be leveraged once the custom work is completed by the resort.

 

Free year-round redemption products - ​As resorts are trying to weather climate change, one product that is growing in popularity is a year-round membership. The Wall Street Journal recently put out an article titled “How Skiing Can Survive Climate Change.” One suggestion they gave for keeping revenues high despite potentially shorter seasons is to invest in year-round fun. ​Boreal and Woodward Park City offer year-round memberships and are implementing the reservation module + validated $0 products so that they can offer members the option to reserve their included activities. - activities like indoor sessions, tubing, etc. 

Reward loyal pass/pack holders. Provide special pass deals or added incentives to previous season pass/pack holders.

  • Examples: 

    • Allow previous 4 pack holders to get a bonus day 5th day for the same price as a standard 4 pack, 

    • Offer complimentary transferrable tickets previous season pass holders can redeem online next season.

    • Offer any pass sold to previous season pass holders at $X or X% off.

Provide incentives to guests whose seasons were cut short.  

  • Give previous pass holders whose season was cut short access to free or steeply discounted products.

    • Offer future season passes discounted amounts for previous season pass holders who skied less than 10 days.  

    • Offer discounted lessons or programs to previous pass holders

Provide creative pass/frequency card models for guests who may not want to commit to a pass 

  • Offer a frequency product where guests commit to and pay for one to several days of skiing during the initial pass sales period, then enable them to later unlock discounted lift tickets for additional days during the future season.

Other creative uses include: 

  • Offering a pass pack at a discounted rate with a certain number of days loaded onto it and allowing guests to purchase additional discounted days in advance to load onto their pass pack

  • Redeeming Warren Miller free tickets

  • Sending pass holders a hidden link to get access to cheaper products with the use of their special pass holder code
