Use Cases: Product Shell
As the product shell is used as the foundation for all products and add-ons, it is used no matter what type of product is being configured. Below are some examples of product shells using minimum functionality.
Media Product - A simple media product would only require basic product shell setup.
Optional Add-ons - When a simple product shell is created, it can be added to a core product as an optional or required add-on. Simple add-ons could be anything such as a free ‘Kid’s Ski Free pass’, pass refund protection, or anything with a single SKU.
NOTE: Attributed add-ons can also be created but are not an example of an add-on only using basic product shell functionality.
Unique resort products - Simple products with a single SKU suited for all participants. A summer gondola ride, tickets to a special event, etc. These products can be set up as a free product or as a priced product.
