Upcoming Version Release

Aspenware Commerce 2.25 Code

 

The latest code from Aspenware Commerce is ready for your Test and Production Stores! Here’s what’s coming:

  • Improved edit cart capabilities

  • Updated date formats that are shorter, abbreviated, and consistent throughout checkout

  • Display “Parking Location Description” instead of “Entrance Notes” for Arrive Products

  • Numerous other improvements and resolved issues can be found here

 

Checkout the 2.25 Release Notes and reach out to your Aspenware representative via support@aspenware.com if your resort would like to move forward with 2.25.


Upcoming Releases: 2.26 + 2.27

 

Release 2.26 (minor release) and 2.27 (major release) are expected to be production-ready in the next couple of months. Our service team will be in touch as those are nearing completion.

Webinar 2: Kount: Feb 3, 2022

 

Want to further protect your resort from costly chargebacks? Let’s talk about KOUNT!

While attending the webinar with the Kount team on February 3rd will give you all of the detailed information you need, following is a little insight into our new enhancements with the Kount integration.

Kount Command is now available as a plugin for all payment gateways that Aspenware supports. This enhancement utilizes APIs provided by Kount to insert the KOUNT query/response either PRE or POST authorization. - known as KOUNT Command. Specific features include:

  • Integration to the Kount API before the credit card is sent to authorize. https://kount.github.io. This happens in the pre-payment validation step - Kount begins tracking the session as soon as the customer clicks “checkout”, before a call is made to the payment gateway. Therefore, the resort doesn't incur transaction fees for a decline.

  • In addition to passing in all required fields, the Product Date is also passed through to Kount as a user-defined field so that resorts can prioritize investigating same-day bookings or bookings for tomorrow as these have the highest fraud potential.

Aspenware Commerce now integrates with Windcave as a payment provider.

Aspenware is excited to offer Windcave as another payment gateway for the Commerce platform. Available later this month, Windcave is a truly international, tokenized payment gateway, enabling resorts to address business needs around the globe.

Windcave is also unique in that the resort may select the acquiring bank. This allows flexibility in selecting bank affiliation rather than being limited to a particular bank or network selected by the payment gateway provider. Having this option to choose enables resorts to consolidate bank relationships across the enterprise which eases the workload for reporting and interchange rate negotiation and simplifies agreements with credit card providers. Adding this payment gateway is yet another way Aspenware is committed to offering resorts choices and flexibility in configuring their ecommerce solution.

Jenni had her baby!

As some of you may know, the Aspenware team has grown by another Buonanni! Jenni and her husband added to their family of 3 with a baby girl, making them a happy and healthy family of 4. We are all so happy for them and cannot wait to meet Audrey.

Aspenware Spotlight

This month’s spotlight is focused on our very own Marty Niessen. He has been with us for 2.5 years as a Senior Implementation Consultant.

  • Marty loves traveling to various resorts to host on-site product training. He feels just how impactful it is to be in-person and loves being able to build those connections beyond the professional level, making working together more effective and enjoyable.

  • When asked what is one thing he wishes all resorts knew or used, he answers with: “Aspenware’s products are remarkable but resorts seldomly maximize the full breadth of features they pay for. I wish resorts would familiarize themselves more with all the awesome features/capabilities available to them by working with the Aspenware team or by exploring our documentation library “The Hub.”'

  • Where can you find Marty when he’s not hosting the next big training? On the river! Multi-day raft trips are his specialty.
