Pass Checker enables guests to enter their card number (passmedia# or RFID#) to check if their media will work at a specific lift. Among many use cases, guests can check if their pass is hotlisted due to incomplete tasks or if their pass is blacked out for the selected date.

Pass Checker can be used to validate guest lift tickets for two criteria: date and access control.

Sample 1: Jones Mountain sells lift tickets that are valid from Open to Close, and allow the ticket holder access to every lift.

1) Edit General Tab by adding Resort’s Default Pass Checker POS Location ID.

  • Enter the RTP | One Access Location Code of ANY lift in the “Pass Checker POS Location ID” field in the General Tab. Do not create any additional access location collections or mappings.

  • In this instance the Pass Checker window would ask only for the Date of Use and Pass Id.

Sample 2: Jones Mountain sells tickets that are valid from Open to Close. They sell a Beginner Ticket that is valid only on two carpet lifts and a beginner chair, and and an All Mountain Ticket that allows access to every lift.

Create “AccessLocations” Collection, as described in configuration Guide. Create 2 mappings in the Access Locations Mappings. For All Mountain access, enter the RTP|One Access Location Code of ANY lift. For Beginner (limited) Access, choose the Location Access code of one of the three lifts included in the Beginner ticket ( underlined above).

The Pass Checker Window now allow the guest to select which lift access they are verifying for on a specific day.

SAMPLE 3. Jones Mountain sells a Day Ticket that is valid from Open to 4 pm, and a Night Ticket that is valid from 3 pm to 10 pm, with either All Mountain Access or Beginner Only Access.

Configure exactly as shown in sample 2, and ask your Aspenware Services Representative to help you edit the default validity time to 3:30 pm MST, as that is a specific time included in the overlaps of both defined time periods. If the time periods do not have an overlap, select a default time (currently 11:30 am MST) that meets the needs of the greatest amount of customers.
