  • From the Aspenware Commerce Plugins>Age Range page in Admin, click View Add Range Types in the upper right corner.

  • Click Add Age Range Type.

  • Enter a name and description for the age range type.

  • To set the date used to compare the customer’s age to the required age range, select:

    1. Calculate from Trip Start (this age range type is likely already configured), or

    2. Calculate from Today’s Date (age range based on purchase date), or

    3. Specify the Calculation Start Date; the customer’s age on this date will be used to determine if they are eligible for the product based on the age ranges

  • Click Add.

  • Age Range Types can be edited and inactivated, but they cannot be hard deleted without contacting Aspenware.

  • Age Range types that are set to Calculate from Trip Start or Today’s Date will never need to be edited, unless you would like to edit the name. Age Range Types that are calculated from a fixed date however, will need to be edited each year to adjust for the current year.

Hint: Age Range Types should also be adjusted year over year. If age ranges are calculated based on Trip Start, then they will not need to be updated.

Once completed for all required age range types move on to create Age Range.

  • Go to Configuration > Settings > Shopping Cart Settings and look at the Number of ‘Cross Sells’ checkbox.

  • If set to ZERO (0), Cross Sell is deactivated across the entire store. No objects will appear, neither in the lightbox or the mini cart.

  • If set to any other integer, the integer will determine the maximum number of items displayed as cross sold items, in the lightbox and the mini cart.

Info

NOTE: Consider the maxim “less is more” and try limiting the number of cross-sells to a lower number, effectively increasing the impact of the cross-sell presentation, and also being less intrusive to the shopping experience. The default setting is 4.

Language Strings

While the images and copy displayed with the cross sold product are determined by the PDP, there are other areas of customization required by the resort through configurable language strings.

  • Go to Configuration > Languages > English and click Edit.

  • Scroll down to String Resources panel.

Detailed Setup Guide

Apply Cross Sell to the Product(s)

Cross Sell is applied at the product level, in a dedicated tab in the PDP. There are two (2) steps involved in applying Cross Sell. The first determines if the cross sold product displays in a lightbox (and if so, at what frequency), or is displayed only in an appended list, at the bottom of the “mini cart.” The second defines which products are triggered.

  • Go to Catalog > Products and locate the trigger product.

  • Edit the product. Make sure the “Advanced” view of the PDP is selected.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the PDP, where you will see the Cross Sell Tab and Additional Product Settings Tab.

  • On the Cross Sell Tab, expand to see Add new cross sell Button.

    Image Added
  • Click Add new cross sell, navigate to the desired product, select it and Save. The selected product will now be displayed as cross sell when the trigger product is added to the cart.

Info

NOTE: The order in which you add products to the Cross Sell list is the order in which they are displayed to customers. To modify the display order, delete all cross sold products, and add in the preferred order.

  • Scroll to the Additional Products Settings tab, scroll to the Cross Sell settings section and complete the following fields:

    • Is Cross Sell lightbox enabled? Check this the box activates the display in the lightbox.

    • Number of times that Cross Sell Lightbox should show? The integer applied will determine the number of times each item is displayed in the lightbox only. Items will display in the mini cart until they are “added to cart” or the shopping session ends.

Info

NOTE: These settings apply to all products added as cross sell products.
