Q: I’m getting an inventory related error in the order queue but the product the guest purchased doesn’t have inventory mapped to it in AW commerce. A: If inventory is setup on any of the DCIs or components in the POS, it should also be setup in AW Commerce using the configuration steps for inventory. If the product is not setup with inventory mappings in AW commerce, the guest will be able to freely book, and if it sells out in the POS, then the order will fail because the two systems don’t have the same constraints. |

Q: Can I restrict a validated prompt code entry to only be available to use if a guest is buying within a certain time frame?
A: Yes. You can set up validated prompts in RTP|One to only validate codes during a specific time, and also set these special gated products in Aspenware Commerce to only be available during the specified time using the product start and end time fields. Contact your Aspenware Representative for assistance.
Q: Can I restrict uses on a validated prompt code?
A: Yes. You can limit the number of times a customer can use their code to be single-use or multi-use. Usage limits are set up in the validated prompt rules in RTP|One, so work with your Aspenware representative to fully communicate your campaign requirements so that they can set up the validation prompt according to your rules. If enabling single-use codes, then ensure to set up the prompt to “Prevent Duplicates” in Aspenware Commerce, which ensures the code can only be used once per transaction.
Q: Where and when does the guest enter the validated prompt code when making a purchase?
A: If the code is not configured to “validate on assignment,” guests will enter their code in the checkout flow on the “Personalize” step. The user will be prompted to enter a specific code for each fenced product. Depending on the rules configured around the validated prompt, it may require a specific guest is also assigned to the product in addition to checking the code. If the code is configured to “validate on assignment,” no code entry will be required, but only eligible household members will be available to be assigned to the product.
Q: How do I report on how frequently validated prompts are used and how much revenue I drove from guests who purchased products fenced by validated prompts?
A: Reporting is offered through RTP|One’s validation prompts and custom reports. Work with your Aspenware representative if a custom report is needed.
Q: Can I fence products using validated prompts to only be available to use if a guest has already purchased a specific product and has that on their profile?
A: Yes. You can set up validated prompts in RTP|One to only validate codes for guests who are valid. You may consider setting these prompts up to be “validate on assignment” prompts, to reduce the amount of data entry for the guest in this case.
